Hotel del coronado

Here are all the details for this FAVORITE spot for beach photography!

TIME: We start one hour before sunset unless otherwise noted.

MEETING PLACE: Typically, I meet clients at Lifeguard Tower 2C near the Avenida del Sol cul de sac. See the map below for the location (far right side of the image).  The Hotel del Coronado is located at 1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118. Here’s a Google pin for the lifeguard tower

PARKING: Normally, parking is available in the underground parking lot at the Hotel del Coronado for $20. Street parking is available on Avenida del Sol (unless closed due to construction or Covid restrictions) or on Orange Avenue just after the Avenida del Sol intersection.

BRING: Please remember to bring a towel and change of clothes. My clients often get wet! If you have young children, bring a snack and special treat (aka bribe 😊).

SHOES: I recommend flip-flops that you can kick off when you get to the sand. We don’t worry about “real shoes” for beach sessions.

DINNER OPTIONS: There are several restaurants on site at the Del and others nearby. My favorite for authentic, casual, family-friendly Mexican food (with delicious queso for your chips) is Miguel’s Cocina. Here’s the scoop on dinner ideas. Again — bring a towel and change of clothes!
