Sarah’s family has been coming to Coronado for more than twenty years, and every year she said they should finally have professional photos taken. This was the year.
Everyone was together for the Fourth of July, Eddie and Sarah were both turning 60, and Edward had a deployment coming up. As Sarah put it, all the stars aligned.
And “everyone” is quite a crew. There’s Eddie, better known as Big Poppy, and Sarah, also known as LouLou. Madeleine is a hardworking, fiercely loyal mom, and Madison is an excellent chef and “Madeleine and Eleanor’s number one guy.” Edward is competitive and always ready to take on a challenge. William is equally competitive, with a heart of gold, and his girlfriend Sophie is wonderfully easygoing. Uncle Bobby is loyal and independent. And six-year-old Eleanor is joyful, precocious, and, according to the family, the center of the show.
Sarah describes them in three words: loving, loyal, and patriotic. A Fourth of July session in Coronado could not have suited them better.
When I asked what she hoped the photos would capture, Sarah said, “Our bond as a family, our personalities, the stages we are in, and precious moments.”
Her favorite image? She couldn’t choose. The full family portrait at our starting point. The lifeguard tower. Eleanor twirling above the water with her dad.
“They are all my favorites because they are of my favorite people in the world.”
They spent the week staying with family in Coronado, boating, tubing, and jet skiing. After twenty years of visits, this one finally made it into the frame.
