It was 2017 when I first met Nanette and her extended family, but I’ve had the pleasure, without knowing it, of photographing some of her grandchildren in the meantime as I’ve done school photography! Our first session was on Coronado, so this time we met up in the field at Steele Canyon Bridge. The trees were ablaze with fall color, and it was great to see how the family has grown with new grandbabies and a sweet fiancée!

Lauren’s new job was the perfect opportunity for new headshots, and I loved working with her and her company’s marketing department. They sent over specific guidelines to achieve the types of images that will blend seamlessly with the existing headshots of their team. With employees across the country, they requested natural light, shaded images in urban settings with a shallow depth of field—exactly what I love to do for a headshot session. Although our original location was foggy on the day of the session, Lauren and I pivoted and found a new location with beautiful sun.

Linda’s family was all in town for the holidays, and it was wonderful to photograph their entire extended family at Steele Canyon Bridge just after New Year. Linda’s daughter Jessica and daughters-in-law Laura and Liz all worked for Sitterwise in college, and I loved seeing them again! They were always amazing to work with, and I’m thrilled to see them thriving with beautiful families and sweet kiddos of their own! Linda and Terry are dream grandparents, and I love the shots of them chasing the kids through the leaves. I’m hoping we can get together yearly and I can watch this fun crew grow up!

Alexis & Annabelle | Twins Senior Portraits in Little Italy

Presenting my beautiful and talented nieces, Alexis and Annabelle. I was honored that they asked me to do a photo session in Little Italy for their senior portraits, and we had so much fun wandering around the area with their mom, my favorite sister and fellow photographer Melanie. We even finished up the evening with bruschetta at Postino! These two girls have knocked the socks off high school, participating in drama, cheer, ballet, diving, and gymnastics, taking a full load of AP classes, and rocking sky-high GPAs. They are dedicated musical theatre fans and made our Christmas jam sessions fun this year with their guitar and piano skills. I’m excited to see what’s next for them both!

Ava’s Senior Portraits at the Beach | Coronado Professional Photographer

Ava and her family vacationed in San Diego over the holidays. As an Arizona-native, she wanted the beach for her senior portraits. Schedules were packed, but we found a time to shoot early in the morning just a couple of days after Christmas. It was very, very(!) cold, but Ava braved the frigid air and water and was a wonderful model! I love how her session turned out!

I’ll admit it . . . I’m a little jealous of my meticulously styled sunset beach photography clients. These days, my own family portrait session takes place 15 minutes before we sit down to Thanksgiving Dinner, and everybody just pulls whatever they have out of the closet! It’s hard to wrangle college students and early sunsets in the fall, and Thanksgiving is the one day I don’t have a session and Lissa is home from CBU. We’re blessed that my parents live near a beautiful nature preserve, so backgrounds like these are just a short walk away. My sister does our family portraits, and we toss the camera back and forth for the kid, hubby, and dog shots. This year we added some bonus images of Lissa with her boyfriend Taylor.

Williard Baby Announcement | Coronado Beach Holiday Photoshoot 2024

When my friend Alli approached me with VERY special news several weeks ago, I was thrilled to be involved in her big announcement! She and Robert have been married for over a decade and have desired children all the while . . . but there seemed to be some delay. As Robert and Alli waited, they poured themselves into serving the Lord at church and through coaching, and they built a business flipping houses, with Robert putting his contracting and construction skills to use and Alli contributing her eye for design and decor. Their Christmas card and Christmas Day post on social media was so fun to read, and hundreds of responses show how much they are loved and how happy everyone is for them. We can’t wait to meet Baby Williard next year!

Linett & Raz Reunited Post Deployment | San Diego Photographer

It was wonderful to see Linett and Raz’s Spring Valley home all lit up for Christmas and to see them back together again after Raz’s long deployment. He came home to a baby girl who had grown up quite a bit, and she is loving having Daddy home! I see a daddy’s girl in the making!

The Kim family stayed at the Shore House at the Del over Thanksgiving, and I met up with them the morning after the holiday for their Christmas photos. Cynthia and David two sons and two daughters (twins) who took time out of their busy school and Armed Services schedules to be together. Both sons are on active duty, and one of their daughters is currently a cadet at West Point. Cynthia and David are the founders of Children of Fallen Patriots, a non-profit providing college scholarships to the children of Gold Star families.
