Jason is a wonderful writer, and I loved how he responded to my questions about his session, so I’ll just sit back and let him tell the story:
While on vacation in San Diego, I proposed to Terrin on the sandy beaches of Hotel Del Coronado! Because we are out-of-state visitors, I needed to locate a highly dependable photographer to capture the proposal moment. I found Amy Gray during a search for photographers in Coronado, and found her to be an expert in the area and in delivered breathtaking photos. She helped my plan go off without a hitch and helped make the moment even more memorable. She made us both feel comfortable and natural throughout the entire process.
As a busy couple, we haven’t had much time for a long vacation. We knew that if we were going to travel, we needed to make it super memorable and relaxing. San Diego was a no-brainer! Staying right off Mission Beach, we made sure to spend lots of time soaking up the rays and surf. We also enjoyed a very cool ghost tour in the Gaslamp area, experienced the quaint, historic views and food of Old Town San Diego, and embarked on a scenic whale-watching tour where we saw four species of whale and a pod of dolphins. We would highly recommend checking out the stunning Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, as well as touching the sea urchins at the Birch Aquarium. And, if you have the time, a sunset beach bonfire really rounds out a perfect San Diego adventure. San Diego will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we are already daydreaming about our return.
One of the most memorable aspects of our photo session with Amy was being able to capture incredible pictures of us standing in the waves of the ocean. This was such a worthwhile part of our session. Amy is unique in this way as we have never seen any other photographer have the same approach! This made for beautiful, one-of-a-kind images. Even though the May waters were chilly, we did not notice in the slightest as we were having such a good time splashing around in front of the lens. What a cool experience!
Amy took an amazing, long exposure image of the two of us standing in the rushing waves of the ocean. This blurred the waves and made it look like we were standing in the clouds.
