Claire has called San Diego home her entire life, and the University of San Diego has been her world for the past four years. For her senior session, she wanted photos that reflected her connection to campus—the views, the buildings, and the sense of pride that comes from finishing something big.
We spent the session exploring her favorite spots, from tucked-away paths to the beautiful architecture that’s become part of her everyday life. Her mom joined us for the session, and during our walk between locations, we chatted about church and Christian education and realized we had mutual friends—a small but lovely reminder of how connected this community is.
Claire recently had a short story published in USD’s Alcalá Review, and she’s stepping into a marketing role with a local small business after graduation. She’s also getting married soon—a season full of new beginnings and good things ahead.
A true local, Claire says Encinitas is her favorite area in San Diego—especially the 101, with all its hidden gems. She loves Hamburger Hut, East Village Asian Diner, and Artifact Books—spots that reflect her easygoing personality and love for the little things that make a place feel like home. As she looked toward what’s next, Claire shared a favorite verse that gives direction and focus during a time filled with change: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23). That spirit—trusting and hopeful—will see her through all life’s adventures. Congratulations, Claire!
