Our family came together (some of us from out of town) to San Diego to celebrate the holiday season. With young kids across the family, it is hard to get everyone together and we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity with a memorable photo shoot.
Photographers in San Diego are destined to meet a friend when they show up for a session at Scripps Pier! It is like a photography Mecca, calling us because of the leading lines and potential for amazing sunset light!
I just love what my beach photography clients are wearing these days! These pink and blue color schemes are my absolute favorite, and this time of year is so perfect for gorgeous light on Coronado and San Diego’s other beautiful beaches.

Photography in San Diego doesn’t usually start at 8:30am, but we don’t usually get rained out in San Diego, either! This family from Maryland needed to head home, so we scheduled our Hotel del Coronado session for the next morning, just as (I hoped) the fog would burn off. Natural light photography can be a little treacherous, with the sun threatening to peek out at any moment and leave us without the pretty filtered light that the clouds bring! In the end, the sun behaved, and I love the bright blue sky and puffy clouds in this session. I also love the way this brother and sister pair loved each other. So cute!!
