“The main focus of our living room are the family photos that serve as a collage above our couch. Replacing the photos each year during a special photo session is a yearly tradition. With our trip to San Diego, there was no better place to capture some memorable family photos with backdrops you can’t find in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was a no brainer, we had to have a family photo session during our trip to San Diego.”
Louis’s family’s vacation in San Diego featured Legoland, Belmont Park, the San Diego Zoo, and, of course – the beach! We met up on Coronado to grab some family portraits.

When you come to San Diego with a 12 and 5-year-old, well you do kiddo things. We enjoyed the California sun on Coronado Island and Mission Beach. We even took in some rides at Belmont Park. A trip to Legoland may have been the highlight of the trip for the kids. And what San Diego trip isn’t complete without a trip to the San Diego Zoo.
With a 5-year-old you are always concerned with their mood for the day. Luckily, with a little bribing and some help from Amy with bubbles, our little guy did great.
Without question, our favorite memory from our session was the rainbow that popped up during the session. A little rain, combined with the California sun, provided the perfect photo that will be shared among our family for years to come. It is now the focal point of my photos in the office. We found what was on the other side of the rainbow…and it was an image that will last a lifetime.
There were several images that really stood out but my favorite has to be the sunset photo of me and my son. There are so many layers to the photo, but the silhouette image of us holding hands on the beach as the sun drifts past the Pacific Ocean made me smile. While simple, it really showed a genuine moment and captured a heart-warming father/son moment.
