When Michelle reached out to schedule her family session, she mentioned how much she values capturing time, especially in the form of keepsake photos that preserve her family’s story. She wanted to celebrate this beautiful, healthy season of life, knowing how quickly time passes.
We met on Coronado for her session, and I was immediately struck by the vibrant colors she chose—especially that gorgeous dress. They were the perfect match for the partly cloudy skies. After the shoot, we chatted about shopping (I had to ask—her style was on point!), and it was clear she puts thought and heart into everything she does.
This session was extra special because Michelle’s mom, Bettie, is her children’s only living grandparent. It had been three years since they’d updated their family portraits, so it was time. Watching Bettie with the boys was such a sweet reminder of how important grandparents are in families . . . and in photos! One of Michelle’s favorites ended up being a tender moment between her husband Dion and their son—one of those blink-and-they-grow-up images that really sticks with you.
Thanks, Michelle, for choosing me to capture this special moment in your story! I hope to see you again soon.
