When her parents flew in from Dallas, Kim surprised her mom with an entire weekend of 80th birthday celebrations, ending with the grand finale on the beach . . . a photo session for the whole family! Kim said that having these precious moments professionally captured was the perfect way to end their special time together. She found me through the concierge at the Hotel del Coronado Beach Village, and I was so honored to be able to help capture their family’s last fun evening on the beach!
Kim wrote such a wonderful Google review: “What caught my eye and initially impressed me about Amy’s portfolio was her unique use of natural light . . . I especially loved the reflection photos in the water. When planning this family photo session, I had a vision for photos that would serve dual purposes—a Christmas card for our big family, but also a Christmas card for my brother’s family. It was a ‘gift to the entire family,’ as I saw it. I also envisioned my parents and family members turning the photos into a statement piece.”
“In talking to Amy ahead of time, she was empathetic and personable, and she asked lots of questions before the shoot so that she could come prepared. She asks every family member’s name, relationship, ‘gotchas,’ where they’re from, etc, and when she arrives, she calls everyone by name. She references familial relationships. She speaks with kindness. She is focused on keeping things moving and getting the best shot, but also very engaged in ensuring she connects with her audience. She captivates their attention and is empathetic to someone in the group that might be having trouble.”
Thank you for the gift of such a sweet review, Kim!! I loved how your session turned out, and I can’t wait to see you and your family again sometime!
