Rushing Waves Senior Portraits Coronado

Avery’s Senior Portraits | Coronado and Pacific Beach

Avery is headed off to Luther College this fall after enjoying a very successful career at Valhalla High School, where she was a celebrated flautist and drum major in the marching band. We took a grand tour of San Diego for her photos and appreciated both of my favorite beaches (Coronado and Pacific Beach at Crystal Pier) since Avery will be missing the coast while she’s away. She’ll also be missing her little dog, so we got some pictures of him, too!

Taylor & Lissa’s Urban Session | San Diego Couples Photography

My daughter Lissa and her boyfriend Taylor are home from school for the summer, and we headed down to Little Italy to capture some fun dating photos in my favorite urban location. These two have known each other since they were FOUR and have gone to preschool, elementary school, middle school, and high school together. This last year as sophomores at Cal Baptist, they leveled up their friendship.

Baby Girl in Pink

Shelby brought her crew all the way from Wisconsin to the Del to celebrate two birthdays: her own and baby Kishke’s! I was immediately impressed by her children’s joyful, obedient spirits. All four of them were ready to do exactly what I asked—with enthusiasm!—and none of these little ones had any problem with going in the water. In fact, they couldn’t get enough of it and were drenched to the waist by the end of the session. My favorite was when they asked their mom, at the end, “Can we do this tomorrow?” I’m up for it!

Business Session on Location

San Diego Company Headshots | San Diego Hardware

My grandfather was a cabinet-maker, and I have memories of visiting San Diego Hardware in Downtown San Diego as a small child, when I was “helping” him with his projects. A long time passed, and then, just a few years ago when I was redoing my kitchen, designer Joy Elben sent me to the new store in Kearny Mesa to check out pulls for my cabinets. I knew right where to go when Heather, the owner, called for company headshots at the store.
San Diego Hardware is the oldest family-owned business in San Diego, with unmatched hardware expertise and one-on-one customer service. In March of 2006, after 114 years of business downtown, San Diego Hardware relocated to its new store in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. Heather called me for headshots of the staff, including adorable mascot pup Coconut!

Evanna, Atalia, and Erleen’s Senior Session on Coronado

Evanna, Atalia, and Erleen have been friends since elementary school, and their senior session on Coronado was a celebration involving all three families! We captured three outfits per senior, grabbed some shots with moms and dads, got our toes wet on the shore while enjoying the sunset, and ended the session with some colorful shots by the surfboards. These sweet and beautiful girls are headed to SDSU and UC Santa Barbara, and their parents have reason to be very proud. Congrats to all!

Sisters & Senior Portraits at the Del | San Diego Beach Photoraphy

Ashlyn is graduating from high school this year, and her whole family jumped in for a combination senior portraits/family session. If you’ve ever wondered if it’s okay to do both types of sessions at once . . . YES! It is! I love capturing the interactions between family members, along with getting lots of shots (even different outfits!) of the featured senior. When we’re launching our 18-year-olds into life, the whole family deserves to be celebrated!

Backyard Photo Session with Baby, Chickens, and Dogs

East County Pre-Deployment Photos | San Diego Photographer

Linett’s family is getting ready for her husband’s upcoming deployment, and they wanted to capture the life they’ve built together in the last few years in San Diego. They’ve recently welcomed a new baby girl to their beautiful home overlooking the city, where they care for their two sweet pups, four cats, and a couple of chickens. Theirs is a home brimming with life and love—the perfect place to start their family.

Spring Break & Anniversary Portraits at the Del | San Diego Family Photography

Kelly’s family came to San Diego on vacation, celebrating a tenth anniversary for Mom and Dad and spring break for the boys! These sports-loving boys are into basketball, baseball, and football. The oldest enjoys video games and the little one watches Ninja Turtles and Battle Bots. We had a gorgeous sunny day to work with, and we made the most of it!

Portraits on City Streets

Servos | San Diego City Street Company Headshots

I can think of zero places where I’d rather take headshots than San Diego’s city streets! I love the colorful backgrounds, the glimmering lights, and the energy that exudes from these urban images. For companies enjoying offsite meetings in San Diego, using the streets around their hotel accommodations makes a lot of sense, and everybody looks awesome! Servos asked for a quick round of headshots and some group shots for their 30+ person staff. They were a fun bunch of people to work with, especially when I was standing on a ladder in the middle of the street!

MilkStork | San Diego Offsite business Headshots

I’ve been having fun with headshots during the not-so-beachy season this year, and when MilkStork called me for photos during their offsite meetings at the Hotel Indigo. They wanted natural-looking shots that captured the personalities of the amazing people who work for their company, which provides breastmilk delivery for traveling professional moms who are nursing. I love this concept, and it was also fun chatting about our family business Sitterwise, which also serves professional mamas on the go.
