Little N was celebrating his first birthday with Mom and Dad at their beautiful Mission Beach rental home, while vacationing from Canada. We kept this session moving with a costume change, indoor lifestyle portraits, and outdoor beach photos right at sunset. What a delightful family. I loved my time with them!
This is the third time I’ve had the opportunity to photograph this sweet family, and we returned to our original location – Crystal Pier – for this session. Since the first session was in the morning, this evening session added a new twist – a spectacular sunset!
Lots of love and lots of favorites from this Pacific Beach session! This is a very special family who is saying “see you soon” to the grandparents, who are moving to Texas this week. In the photos, you can see their love for their granddaughter, who has had a tricky year medically, but is an overcomer! I loved capturing this family’s personality, strength, and connection . . . and I loved mom’s stunning white dress!
It has been a year since I had the pleasure of photographing little Summer and her mom and dad, and since then a new baby cousin has come along. Summer got to hold her during our extended family photo session, and her facials were ADORABLE! My friends Gail and Jeff, both babies’ “Gigi” and “Papa,” couldn’t be more thrilled. Love this family!
This extended family is about to get a little bit MORE extended, with the upcoming marriage of one of the sons. After seeing the photos, he wrote me one of the kindest “thank yous” I’ve received. It is a blessing to be able to show families how great they really are together!
And also . . . with these extended family sessions, I find great delight in making the grown sons hug their mama extra long. I love the way this mom glanced up at her youngest son in one of the photos. Such a sweet moment!
Beautiful, beautiful birthday soiree for one-year-old Suttyn! It was fun working with Paige from Bliss Events and many other amazing vendors who made this little girl’s big day extra special.
What a fun family! These guys love their new English bulldog, and their older dog, too! It is always fun to include family pets in our photos.

It has been a pleasure to photograph visiting families at the Grand Del Mar over the last few years. Here are a few samples of my work at the resort.
Our Steven turned six three days before Christmas, and we threw a Big Hero 6 birthday party! Convenient. Since the movie is very new (meaning Baymax plates and napkins do not exist), we had to get pretty creative with the decor. It was fun re-thinking the movie and pulling out fun things to build on. For example, we did a lot with Baymax’s “How would you rate your pain” emoticons, making Oreo cookie lollipops and using red, orange, and yellow gum balls and Sixlets for the candy table.

How I LOVE repeat clients and seeing the kiddos grow! As much as I enjoy the beach, it was fun to switch things up a bit and do a field session for this family for a change. They came prepared in their sweet coordinating dresses, cowboy boots, and big smiles. I was pretty much in heaven.
