This Kansas family was vacationing at the Lodge at Torrey Pines, but we met at the Del for their session, and we all had a blast on the beach! I especially loved the silhouettes from their session.
This sweet couple, originally from Japan, is spending a year in San Diego and wanted to commemorate the time with photos on the beach. Yuka chose the most beautiful skirt for our session, and she was gorgeous in the sunset light!
This time of year, beach photography can be a harrowing experience. The beach is supposed to be WARM — but sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes it is 50 degrees at 6:00 in the morning, and your clients are awesome and they PRETEND to be warm (even the 4-year-old) and you get warm *looking* photos, even if it’s actually only 50 degrees. It’s a good thing this family is from South Dakota! They did a great job of pretending (and a great job of choosing fun, bright, colorful clothing!), and I love how their early-morning, super-cold beach session turned out!
This tiny one-year-old birthday girl and her big sister both showed up to our session on Coronado dressed in adorable pink dresses, and they were the princesses of the sand dunes on that gorgeous evening!
I got to photograph my son Steven’s beloved kindergarten teacher this fall, along with her hubby, adorable son, and little-girl-on-the-way. Just Thursday, we heard the wonderful news that little Sydney was born healthy, strong, and beautiful. Congratulations to the Boaz family!
If you don’t get a bit wet and sandy, you’re not doing it right. This little one was the most fearless, water-loving, adventurous person ever! He ran straight for the big waves (and they were BIG waves that day) just as soon as we got close to the water, and the happy solution was to scratch the shirt and capture him au naturel. I love the photos of him just soaking up the ocean.
Jerusha and Chad were SO EXCITED to open that box! This was the first gender reveal session I’ve had the pleasure of doing, and I loved it. I treasure my front-row seat to life’s biggest moments, and I can’t wait to meet this already-much-loved little boy. Hooray for blue!
This family was absolutely delightful. I heard ahead of time that they were concerned their little one-year-old would “run straight out into the water and get all wet and dirty.” Prophetic! But still okay! The evening was perfect for a hands-on toddler on a mission, and the dirtier he got, the more adorable and smiley he became. I’ll take it! Love these images and couldn’t wait to share them!
