Baby Santa Photos on Coronado Beach
The Santa hat, the overalls, the glassy shore and cloud-puffied sky. Is this not the sweetest thing ever? I love this mom and her vision for her Christmas session this year!

This cutie-pie loved the beach and did great for her session! I loved watching her adoring mom and dad dote on her, and I was thrilled with their response to

Well, this little one wasn’t so sure about family pictures until he discovered that it included story time! He was all about reading a book with Mom and Dad, and that paled only in comparison to his affection for the planes and helicopters flying over Coronado that night. What a sweet little boy. <3

I’m beginning to think my clients have my favorite things all figured out. I was so excited when these spritely little girls showed up in their flower crowns! “Adorable” doesn’t even begin to describe them!

A photographer herself, this client did a wonderful job of styling her session. I love the combination of blue and pink on the beach!

This was a fun session at a slightly different location than I usually choose. The family was staying on Coronado, so I looked them up close to their house and we went out to the beach from there. They have a toddler and infant twins, so their lives have been “just staying afloat” lately, and the lifeguard tower made a lot of sense! I loved the styling on this session!

Still catching up on these summer sessions! Some summer days are cloudy, but the light is beautiful and soft. This family had the greatest personalities, and the young lady was so natural in front of the camera!

What a dream-come-true proposal! First a peaceful picnic on the beach . . . then a walk under Scripps Pier . . . a random stranger (ahem, me) offering to take a picture . . . and suddenly he was down on one knee and offering the most beautiful ring! Finally, a little walk farther down the beach to see several dozen of their favorite friends and family (and their dog!) gathered to wish them well. It was perfection!

Another beautiful summer evening, and mom’s red dress was stunning! We only had a few minutes for this session before the sun set, but I have so many favorites!

Getting caught up on blogging and it was fun to remember this sweet family of girls and the beautiful sky that evening.

I don’t often schedule morning sessions for two reasons: 1) The weather is impossible to predict at that time of day and 2) the only guarantee for good light is at dawn (and nobody wants to get up that early). For this session, we took a chance and started at 8, and it was beautiful!! I loved the light cloud cover and the mom’s styling choices. Such a fun, active session at the Hotel del Coronado!

It is such an honor to be there at a proposal and watch a man honor his future bride by surprising her with a beautiful ring. In this proposal, the ring was not the focus (since it was actually a piece of popcorn!), but the love between these two amazing people certainly was. I enjoyed meeting them both and hearing their story, and I have no doubt they have a long and happy life together to look forward to!
