Real Christmas Cards with Amy Gray, San Diego Photographer Images

One of the most delightful parts of Christmastime for me is giving and receiving Christmas cards, and it is a special kind of wonderful to open a Christmas card and see familiar images included! This year, I received several cards from friends and family whom I photographed in 2017. I love to see the images my friends and clients love best from their sessions, and their Christmas cards always feature the favorites.

We did a field session several years ago, then a Coronado beach session, then an urban session for their oldest boy’s senior photos, and now she requested a San Diego skyline session! Well, this little one wasn’t so sure about family pictures until he discovered that it included story time! He was all about reading a book with Mom and Dad, and that paled only in comparison to his affection for the planes and helicopters flying over Coronado that night. What a sweet little boy. <3

This was a fun session at a slightly different location than I usually choose. The family was staying on Coronado, so I looked them up close to their house and we went out to the beach from there. They have a toddler and infant twins, so their lives have been “just staying afloat” lately, and the lifeguard tower made a lot of sense! I loved the styling on this session!

What a dream-come-true proposal! First a peaceful picnic on the beach . . . then a walk under Scripps Pier . . . a random stranger (ahem, me) offering to take a picture . . . and suddenly he was down on one knee and offering the most beautiful ring! Finally, a little walk farther down the beach to see several dozen of their favorite friends and family (and their dog!) gathered to wish them well. It was perfection!
