October Session on the Beach | San Diego Photographer
What a gorgeous and fun family I had the pleasure of photographing back in October! Little man’s glasses are stellar!!
What a gorgeous and fun family I had the pleasure of photographing back in October! Little man’s glasses are stellar!!
Try as I might to stay in denial and avoid dealing with the fact that my little girl is growing up, my little girl is growing up! Lissa graduates in June and will be heading to college. We did some serious online shopping at Joyfolie, got her hair and make-up done, and headed to the beach location of her choice . . . Crystal Pier.
I just love photographing the Crocker family! Christie and I have lots of history since high school, and a lot of our times together have been photography-related: from photography playdates when her older boys were small to birth photography of her youngest kiddos to her brother’s wedding a few years ago. In my marketing capacity, I even peeked into her daughter’s kindergarten classroom once for a website photo with her teacher. This year we headed to Balboa Park for family photos among the gorgeous light and stately architecture.
It was so great to meet Emily and her family at the Hotel del Coronado(about:blank) during their visit to San Diego earlier this month. We prioritized Emily’s senior portraits, but there was plenty of time to get some beautiful photos of the whole family. Here are some favorites:
Beth’s family was stationed twice in San Diego before her husband Curt retired from the Navy, so to celebrate their 50th anniversary, the whole family converged on a VRBO in La Jolla. They came from Colorado and Texas, and they wanted family portraits on the beach to commemorate their time together. Beth shared that her 15-year-old grandson Aidan has autism and that it might be difficult to get a genuine smile, but it turned out Aidan LOVES the beach, and we captured some stunners where Aidan’s personality and love for his family really shined through. Such a favorite session.
Hannah came from Arizona to San Diego, her “home away from home,” for senior photos.(https://amygrayphotography.com/gallery/seniors/) Her beautiful blue hair really popped on Coronado(https://hoteldel.com/) beach, and she was a natural model! Hannah’s sister Soleil(https://www.patrickevansalon.com/soleil), a Master Creative Color Artist, came down from San Francisco to help Hannah prep for our session, and we did a few family portraits with everyone.
Vacationers Steve and Yoshie came from New Jersey to introduce their daughter to some of their favorite Coronado locations. This couple met and tied the knot in San Diego…
We began Brie’s session with some mom-and-me photos while Aaron parked the car, and I could tell from the start that these kiddos were going to be a bundle of energy and a ton of fun!
Toni, the matriarch of this beautiful family, is in my Bible study, and when we saw each other at small group earlier the day of her session, she said she really wanted crazy, goofy photos.
When Chuck called me to see if I was available for an 11:00am photo session at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, I actually tried to wiggle out of it!
Emily and her family spend most of their time in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, but they came to Coronado in mid-September to hang out on the beach for a bit before school started again…
Coronado photography client Kristin sent me this note after she saw her images from our recent family session: “I am attaching a photo with you from our wedding—We LOVE the
