Crystal Pier Thanksgiving Family Photos | Amy Gray Photography

The last time I was at Crystal Pier, the entire place was socked in with crazy fog!  What a change this time, when I arrived for a pre-Thanksgiving Day shoot with Family L.  Oh, my goodness!  The weather was beautiful, and everything just went by the book.  The children were sensational, the parents were pros, and we had plenty of time to get just the shots we needed.  Thanks for a wonderful time!

Beach Family Photos | San Diego Snowman | Amy Gray Photography

What a treat to do a sunset beach session at the Del with my good friend Keri and her family!  Little Zach spotted me on the sidewalk and started running, giving me a huge hug right off the bat!  Wow!!  He loved me even more when I told him about the super-special lollipops I was holding for children with smiles for my camera!

Zach and his big sister Rylee were both champs, and they genuinely had a GREAT time getting their church clothes all wet and sandy in the waves!  Baby brother Colby took it all in and pretty much decided we were all nuts, but he was okay with it.

Zach was a GREAT smiler . . . except when there was something more interesting to look at!

And at one point, Zach got just a little more wet than he’d bargained for . . .

But Rylee loved every single minute.  She has a zest for life equaled only by . . . her mommy.

I love these silhouettes from this session!!

And to top it all off, we met a real-life  San Diego snowman on the way in from the beach!  We were all soaked to the skin, but Zach and Rylee took a moment out from their lollipop appreciation party to stick the nose back on the snowman.    (So THAT’s what vegetables are for!)   It was a sweet ending to a fun time!

Pittock Acres Park in Portland by Amy Gray San Diego Photographer

Wow.  Portland was BEAUTIFUL.  I had such a great time there visiting with my college roommates and enjoying Portland’s ambience, cuisine, and . . . SHOPPING!  But the whole time I kept seeing things I wanted to take pictures of, and either I didn’t have my camera, or it just wasn’t the right time for a quick photo shoot!  So I was absolutely delighted when Rebecca (our wonderful hostess) took me up to Pittock Acres Park on the way to the airport for a few moments of photo fun!  These are my favorites.

Family Photographs at Warner Springs Ranch in San Diego

What a beautiful drive it was up to Warner Springs, where Family S spent a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Mom & Dad’s 30th wedding anniversary.  I couldn’t count the times I wanted to pull the car over and take photos on the way up there!  Fortunately, my photo-taking appetite was assuaged upon arrival.  Warner Springs Ranch is an incredible location, complete with trees that actually make you feel like it is fall here in our crazy land of endless summer!  And not only that, but the whole family was drop-dead gorgeous.  I have a bunch of photos to edit from this session/event, but here are a few that I thought were nice right off the bat.  Family S — thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special day!

Smell the Roses in Balboa Park | San Diego Family Photography

What a blessing to spend time with Miss Rachel and her “WaWa” (Grandma)!  Rachel was excited to see me and greeted me with a great big hug!  Gotta love it!

Rachel LOVED Balboa Park and it was so much fun to watch her discover all the different beautiful things there.

It was obvious that she is being trained early to “stop and smell the roses.”  And it was obvious that she loves her WaWa, who is teaching her so well.
